A fiber laser is a special form of the solid-state laser.
The doped core of a glass fiber forms the active medium of a fiber laser.
It is therefore a glass laser with optical fiber properties.
The laser radiation, which is conducted through the laser-active fiber,
is given a very high gain due to its long length.
Fiber lasers have unique properties, such as electrical-optical efficiencies
up to more than 30%, outstanding beam quality (with M² <1.1 for SLM fiber lasers),
long service lives of more than 20,000 hours and a compact, maintenance-free and insensitive design.
Pulse operation extends into the fs range and can achieve a high peak intensity.

The fiber lasers from KMLabs™ have a high average power and multi-MHz repetition-rate.
Y-Fi™ products are based on a briefcase-size, rugged platform, are engineered for hands-free operation
and are distinguished from the competition by their ultrashort pulse duration.
The Y-Fi™ operates at 1035 nm, with average power up to 35W.
Different configurations allow for different maximum pulse energy
and a series of integrated options allow for broad spectral coverage.
EKSPLA offers turn-key fiber lasers with monolithic design and pulse durations in the
picosecond and femtosecond range. They are an excellent choice for amplifier seeding,
material processing, non-linear microscopy, terahertz spectroscopy and many other applications.
